A discussion arose in global chat about exactly what we’re to do in this interim phase between galaxies,
as conquest points essentially mean nothing at the moment.
… Some people argued that it encourages people just to sit in motherbase and chat constantly,
but I’d like to think some more fun things could be added to incentivise continue playing the game during this period.
Just throwing this out there, but I think it would be cool if maybe there was a separate leaderboard during this interim time, showing gangs / people’s cp gains. Maybe with very limited rewards for the top tiers.
I think the lore should be that the rebels are angry and mounting last ditch efforts to ‘take back’ their systems.
It would be cool if we’re travelling to systems that have already been ‘pacified’. Maybe there’s already a limited number of zones to be conquered in each new sector that appears. Maybe each starts at like, between 30-70% already completed.
Maybe some of the ships that spawn already show signs of being damaged.
Maybe they are visually on fire, or their metal is deformed and warped.
Maybe the boss is more fun, adding on jerry-rigged unique weapons that look mangled and work differently than expected, adding more randomness to the expected run and dodge attack patterns of the current boss-fighting meta.
… Just some ideas.
It seems most people now are just waiting in motherbase for sectors to near 90% completion to attack the boss and get loot, as CP points are pointless. Having sectors spawn at around 70% completion already would make sense, lorewise, and encourage continued play, however might throw the loot balance off. Maybe the percentage of loot dropped from these ‘mangled’ previously defeated bosses would be of a lower % chance.
Just some thoughts.
